Can I just start off by saying...I LOVE the Prima Lyric Collection! Totally shabby chic and elegant!! I ran with the light pink and black, such a beautiful mix! I made lots of pretty layers using foam tape between each distressed paper.

Again, isn't the paper just gorgeous!?!?! Here I just did a bit more distressing around the edges. The paper has it's own pretty frame, so I just worked around it.

Swirlydoos Kits are so versatile! For my last two layouts I went with the natural colors using the Kaisercraft paper!!

This is my layout based on the monthly sketch. I usually don't scrap green because it's so hard for me. But, using the sketch and the photo as inspiration, I was able to complete this layout in less than an hour. A record for me...lol!!
Here's the awesome sketch by Begga

Swirlydoos 2nd Reveal, Hello Beautiful

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I'm sharing my last two projects using Swirlydoos April Kit, Hello Beautiful. First up is a canvas using the Project Kit. I loved how the canvas is totally sturdy! I treated it with a couple of  layers of gesso and let dry. In the meantime, I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with it. While going through all the goodies from the kits, I came across the Prima tray. Remembering Miranda video tutorial (you can find that HERE)I thought it a good idea to use it. So, I painted and glue it on the canvas. That's when I started to add all the bits in bobs in the nooks. From there it took a life of it's own. I just kept adding and adding until the canvas was filled. After, I painted everything with the gesso. About three coats. Once it was finally dried I went in with Glimmermist. There you have it!!
 Here are some close-ups

For my second project I made an easel card. I just had to fussy cut the cute little fairy from the Prima paper. I was going to make a scrapbook page, but I though this little beauty needed to be the center of attention. :)
Thank you for taking the time to visit!!
Until my next post...

 My Boy
This page was made using the monthly sketch. I wanted to go with a masculine feel with no flowers...lol! I love going the grunge style. You get to muck things up and it looks perfect! This is my son, he just turned nine. We've grown out his mo hawk for the "Superman" do...hehee! He wanted a Frank Rock Style(he LOVES legos) but his hair wouldn't stay.

Vintage Chic, Swirlydoos 2nd reveal

Hello everyone!! Today I'm revealing my last two projects using the Swirlydoos March Kit, Vintage Chic. This was such  a wonderful kit to work with. I love Prima Engraver line and all the goodies Krissy matched up! I know there are lots of it clubs out there, but this really is the best club. Not only are the kits amazing, but the forums are such a awesome place to be. :0)
First up, is a scrapbook page. The picture is my hubby and me on our 14th anniversary this past Christmas. Well, not Christmas, but the day after...lol! It's not very often that I scrap us. The reason being, one of us is always behind the camera. We were getting ready to go out for dinner, when my oldest daughter took some pictures of us. I think she did a great job! She got my good side....lol!!!
Always and Forever
I did lots of layering and distressing. I wanted a girly grunge so it could both be feminine and masculine.

OMG!! I love love love the project kit this month!! It featured the Bobunny Day Planner AND extra inserts! I so NEED a planner! When it comes to birthday and addresses I'm so unorganized. Being the purple lover that I am, I had to incorporate it into something I plan on keeping for a looooong time!
Here is my cover....hope you like~
Thanks for taking the time!!

 Until my next post.....

The opening project I'd like to share with you is my very first canvas. Stepping out of my comfort zone here!!
I was completely inspired by the Ultimate Designer Challenge Week 4: Create a Textured Canvas. All the entries were beyond amazing and I was motivated to try it out. I love the look and it was so fun to make. I've been missing out :)
Using the Black Gesso(love this stuff) that came in the Embellishment Add-on, I painted an 8x10 canvas. Once dried I used the Prima mask, also came in the Embellishment Add-on, and Molding Paste. When the molding paste was dried I went over the canvas again with Black Gesso and wiping it off. This made the mask design not so bright white. Then I went in with some Martha Stewart Metallic Paint brushing here and there lightly. I added in a touch of green with Silks Olive Vine paint.
Once it was all dry I added all the beautiful embellishments.
This is my Delilah on Valentines Day. While going through my thousand of  photo files, I came upon these photos. This kit is not themed at all but it worked! I went with the colors in her outfit....beige, black, white and pink. I did lots of layering and a bit of masking. Using molding paste and mixing in a bit of Dusty Attic  Dusty Pink paint, I created some texture. The pretty butterflies an item from my Etsy Shop. You can find the Wilted Rose Butterflies HERE.
Pretty Cute

This page was created using the Kit Sketch. My two youngest babies have the greatest relationship. So, when I first saw the sketch I knew exactly what pictures to use.The butterflies I used here I created while making this page. You can find these newest additions to my shop HERE.
Fun Times

Swirlydoos 2nd Reveal for Upon a Time Kit

Hello friends! Today I'd like to share with you more projects I created using the Swirlydoos February Scrapbook Kit, Upon a Time.

First up is a mini I made using the Tech/Project add-on. I didn't use the paint system because the colors were to dark for what I had in mind. I wanted a shabby chic theme that I love so much and never have a enough time to do!!

For the cover I used a piece of the Tattered Angels brushed cotton paper. I sprayed it with Vintage Pink Glimmermist to tint the white a bit of pink. Once it was dry I used gel medium to glue little scraps of Tim Holts Text Tissue Paper.  Then, when that was dry I used the Prima Crackle Mask(came in the tech kit) and molding paste. When it was completed I glued it down to the cover and added the embellishments.
For the inside left I used the same technique as above. In some spots I added a blob of molding paste and sprinkled seed beads. Once it dries the molding paste holds the seed beads in place. On the right side I created 2 torn pockets to place the tags into. The Prima Mechanical findings came in the embellishment kit. I painted the metal with gesso and sprayed with glimmermist for more texture. The butterflies are from my Etsy shop.....you can find them HERE.

You can see how beautifully chunky the mini is!!!
Here are some close-ups of the insides. You can see all the texture and layers I created.
I love Prima Crackle mask!!! I used it on all the pages!

Lastly here are two cards I made using the Main Kit. I used up most of my paper creating the mini album, so all the bits of scraps and leftovers worked perfect for the cards.

Thanks for taking a peek!! I hope that I've inspired you to create something beautiful!!!

 hugs,
